Cagliari

Cagliari is the capital of Sardinia, also cultural and economic center. Cagliari is situated on the south of the island in a beautiful bay called '' Bay of Angels ''. Cagliari area has been inhabited for thousands of years, and the city receives its contour in the 8th century BC by Phoenicians. Although it isn’t large and popular as other famous Italian cities, Cagliari is lovely cosmopolitan city which attracts more and more tourists every year.

In Cagliari live about 150,000 inhabitants. Old Town (Castello) is full of medieval walls and towers and offers a wonderful view on the Cagliari. Cagliari has a multitude of churches such as Basilica of St. Saturnino from the 5th century and cathedral from the 13th century. City offer is enriched by numerous restaurants, cafes, bars and shops. Cagliari has five modern marinas where you can rent a boat with or without skipper and take a tour of divine boundless coasts of Sardinia.

Cagliari is famous for its beautiful beaches situated around the city and the Bay of Angels. The most famous beach is Poetto, long sandy beach full of attractive nightclubs and bars. 9 km northwest of the city center is placed Cagliari international airport which seasonally connects the city with almost whole Europe.
