Nature Park Telašćica is located on the southeastern part of the island of Dugi otok. Nature Park Telašćica features three basic phenomena: the Telašćica bay (by which the whole park got its name), cliffs, so-called 'stene' of Dugi Otok which rise to 200 m above the sea and fall down vertically to 90 meters, and a medicinal saltwater lake Mir. Thanks to its extreme beauty, richness and importance, the Telašćica was declared as Nature Park in 1988.

Telašćica is one of the most beautiful and largest Adriatic bays. It is retracted into the land about 8 km and on its south side is the widest part of about 1.6 km. The bay is very indented and has 25 small bays, capes and 6 islets. Thanks to its position, Telašćica bay is protected from gusts of bora from the mainland and sirocco from the open sea.

Mir is a saltwater insular lake of medicinal properties, located in a narrow land part between the Telašćica bay and the open sea. The lake is salty because it underground channels that are connected with the sea. The salinity of the lake is generally higher than the Adriatic Sea due to evaporation and closure of the lake. The lake is rich with therapeutic mud, and is the habitat of endemic species of eel called ''kajman''.

On the open-sea side of the Telašćica bay, vertical cliffs rise forming the most distinguished cliff on the Adria, the famous "Stene" of Dugi otok. Cliffs rise up to 200 m above the sea and descending to a depth of 90 m. This area is rich with interesting flora and fauna and along the cliffs can be seen dolphins. In the sea, beneath the cliffs lives a different corals, including the endangered red coral. Thanks to the presence of a great number of individuals of two protected bird species, gray and Eleonora's falcon, Telašćica is included in the ornithological important areas.

You can reach the area of the park with your own or a rental boat, or in the organization of one of the many travel agencies across the Adriatic, which organize excursions in the area of the park. In the Telašćica there are several restaurants where you can enjoy in traditional local specialties. Anchoring and overnight stay on boats is allowed in bays in the park area.

We wish you safe sailing and calm seas...
