Nautic destination - Town of Skradin - boat charter

At the point where the river Krka enters the Adriatic Sea, is placed one of the oldest Croatian towns, Skradin. Skradin is situated on the right bank of the river Krka, 18 km north of the town of Šibenik. Skradin is a town of very long and rich history that dates back from the time of the Illyrians and Romans, who were on place of today’s Skradin founded an ancient settlement Scardona. Today’s town was built mostly in the late 18th and in the 19th century.

Skradin is a picturesque Dalmatian town with narrow cobbled streets and stairs, old stone houses and valuable cultural and historical heritage. From valuable sacred objects should be mentioned the baroque church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary with a bell tower from the 18th century and the church of St. Jerome from the 16th century. There is also an interesting medieval fortress Turina from the 14th century, located above Skradin, offers a beautiful view. Near Skradin is a valuable archaeological site Bribirska glavica, known as the Croatian Troy, which was due to its location in the past most important settlement of the entire region.

Area of Skradin has about 3,800 inhabitants who are mainly engaged in shellfish and fish farming, agriculture, tourism and hospitality. Tourism is very important component of Skradin, because there are almost no tourists who during visiting National Park Krka doesn’t come by in Skradin. Skradin is also known for its superb cuisine, so in Skradin restaurants you can taste traditional dishes like the Skradin risotto, koprtlja, dishes baked under an iron bell and delicious Skradin cake, and enjoy fine wines and aromatic brandies. The town has several restaurants, taverns, cafes, shops, post office, and money exchange. The offer of the city is additionally enriched by beautiful marina ACI marina Skradin which is open all year and has a capacity of 180 berths. Thanks to the ACI Marina, Skradin has become indispensable nautical destination for boaters who sail around Šibenik archipelago.
